Bollywood actor Sonu Sood helped lakhs of people during the first wave of Covid-19 as well as the second wave. He recently shared a video on Instagram where he appealed to the government to think about the future of those children who lost their parents during the Pandemic. In the video, the actor said that there are a lot of people who have lost their loved ones during the second wave.
He further said that there have been cases where children aged between 10 to 12 and more have lost both their parents to Covid-19 and the future of these children is a big concern for society. Sonu Sood appealed to the government and organisations that they must look after the education of these children, which must be free of cost. He added that the education of such children should be free of cost, irrespective of the field of career they chose.
He requested the government, the state government, central government, or institutions who are trying to help to look into the issue and take the necessary actions. Sonu Sood also spoke on behalf of those people who lost their sole breadearners of the family during the pandemic and urged the government to help such families too. In the caption, Sonu Sood wrote, “Need to come together for every individual who’s lost a loved one in this pandemic,”

Global star Priyanka Chopra Jonas came in support of Sonu Sood’s appeal and not only lauded his efforts but also called him a visionary philanthropist. She shared a video on social media and said, “Have you heard of visionary philanthropists? My colleague @sonu_sood is one such. He thinks and plans ahead. Think this one out carefully because the impact is long-term and it involves children—amongst the many horror stories of the pandemic, this is regarding those children who have lost one or both parents due to COVID-19. The disruption, for many, sadly leads to a complete stop in their education due to the combination of loss and economic factors due to that loss”
