After the first season revolved around the 26/11 attack in Mumbai and the Indian Commandos who fought off the terrorists, the second season will revolve around the brave Indian Armed Forces who fought off the terrorists who attacked Gujarat in 2002. ZEE5 recently released his first look, as a commando and it is reminding us of his first-ever role as second Lieutenant Dharamvir Bhan in Border.

Akshaye Khanna is a very underrated and versatile actor, who has time and again given brilliant performances in films. He began his career in 1997, with Himalaya Putra and then starred in JP Dutta’s war film, Border, which soon became an iconic film, and even his role became a memorable one. Akshaye Khanna was nominated for the Filmfare Award in the Best Supporting Actor category for his same portrayal.
After seeing his first look from the upcoming ZEE5 series State of Siege: Temple Attack, we can’t help but remember his same role from the JP Datta directorial. He is playing the role of the Indian Army Officer, Major Hanut Singh, in the series. Take a look at his first look from series, SOS: Temple Attack

After Border, Akshaye Khanna had also portrayed the Kargil war hero, Lt. Balwan Singh, in JP Dutta’s another war film, LOC: Kargil. After Border and LOC: Kargil, this is the third time we will get to see Akshaye Khanna portraying an Indian Soldier and that is getting us very excited.
Till now, we do not know much about this upcoming action thriller, besides three facts: One, that it is based on the Indian Soldiers’ fight against the terror attacks, second, that it stars Akshaye Khanna and third, that Akshaye Khanna is definitely going to give another groundbreaking performance.

Also, Akshaye Khanna’s roles in other action and thriller films over the years are the reason why we know for a fact that his performance in this upcoming series will be worth watching. Among his best action/thriller films, you can watch 36 China Town, Aakrosh, and MOM on ZEE5, which were all highly acclaimed at the time of their releases.
Produced by Contiloe Pictures, CEO Abhimanyu Abhimanyu Singh spoke to a leading daily about the film. He added “Very rarely have we highlighted the role of the Indian commandos in neutralising attacks by our enemies. The State of Siege series was designed to give their perspective and contribution. The success of State of Siege: 26/11 encouraged us to tell these stories further and the obvious extension for us was to chronicle the events of the temple attack that shook the nation. Akshaye’s demeanor and craft make him the perfect fit to lead this narrative and we’re more than excited to be partnering with ZEE5 again on this one.”
Also until State of Siege: Temple Attack premieres, you can catch up on the previous series, State of Siege: 26/11 on ZEE5.
