It was not long before the fans were speculating the release of ‘Venom: Let there be Carnage’, the sequel to the surprise hit, Venom, first released in 2018. But the pandemic came along to ruin everyone’s plans. However, following the success of Marvel’s ‘Shangchi and the Legend of Ten Rings’ and ‘Black Widow’, Marvel postponed the release of Venom 2 and it has fulfilled everyone’s wish.

The Box Office Collection
Venom: Let there be Carnage, has only been released for physical release at theatres. It has yet to be released on Digital Platforms. This is in contrast to the release of other series in this pandemic year, which have had simultaneous release in both theatres and digital platforms. This also puts its box office collection in the wonder zone, as the movie has grossed around $90 million dollars within just 3 days of its release. It is well on its way to join its competitors in being the highest grossing movies of 2021.
The Release Date
The sequel to Venom which was supposed to release on October 15th was scheduled to be released on October 01st for its US audience. The film traces the journey of journalist Eddie Brock(Tom Hardy) who is also host to alien species Venom as he tries to restart his journalistic career after the events of the first movie. In this endeavour he is taking the help of a serial killer named Cletus Kassidy (Woody Harrelson) who is also hosting another alien species of his own, named Carnage.

The Competitors
The two biggest movie releases of 2021 were ‘Black Widow’ which grossed $80 million in release weekend. ShangChi had in comparison grossed $75 million in its blockbuster run. Worth mentioning is the fact that Venom in 2018 pre-pandemic era had opened up to $80million dollars. Fans are amazed with the movie and are waiting for more as theatres across the world are opening.
