2020 isn’t the best time for grand outdoor events during the auspicious time of Vinayaka Chavithi. But you can turn the celebration indoors and enjoy the revered festival.

The year 2020 hasn’t been kind to mankind, for several reasons. Despite a global health pandemic and many natural calamities, people have been finding a ray of hope to cling to. The forthcoming festival of Vinayaka Chavithi is one such that fills people with joy, love and hope. For decades, we remember touching the feet of massive Ganesh idols and celebrating the spirit of this festival in the grandest way. This year, however, we need to make several changes. Thankfully, Zee Telugu can keep you at home entertained, with its special event.

Watch the promo for Bapu Bommakki Pellanta:

The much-awaited Khairatabad Ganesh Utsav Mela has announced that there will be no public celebration this time. The pandal that is known for massive sculptures, as high as 59 feet, has also mentioned that Lord’s idol will only be nine feet tall this time. It will represent Dhanavantri Narayana Maha Ganpati and will be adorned will idols of goddess Lakshmi and goddess Saraswati on its either sides. We will not be able to witness the immersion that takes place at the Hussain Sagar Lake. But fret not, we’re sure we will find a way to watch it through the various news channels.

Giving people another reason to not feel low during the festive days, the government of Telangana has promised to distribute 80,000 clay idols of Lord Ganesha in the city. This move will also encourage families to stay indoors and follow the rituals. Along with Vinayaka Chavithi, many folks will also be finding ways to gobble on some delicious food items that we get to relish once a year. Well, the good news is that we have no restrictions on preparing food and enjoying it. The modak native to Telugu speaking folks will be enough to make up for the things we cannot do this time.

While talking about food, we cannot forget the sumptuous undrallu, the Chavithi-special payasam, spicy vadapappu panakam and chalimidi. The world has seen many ups and downs in just a few months. So, we are excited to look at the plate full of delicious naivedyam instead of the many pandals that we focus on, each year. If you’re feeling low, remember Zee Telugu brings the best of its entertainers, like Pradeep Machiraju, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Gully Boyz, Chandra and others to celebrate the festival and the impending marriage of Mega Princess Niharika Konidela.

Stay tuned to watch the show on August 22, 2020, only on ZEE5. For now, watch the occasion-appropriate film, Vinayakudu here.
