Gangadhar orders his men to find the culprit of the heinous act immediately. Laxmibai refuses to give Prachis ashes to Vahini Saheb and declares that she would not immerse them until she brings justice for Prachi. Vahini Saheb begs Laxmibai to vent out her pain and cry. She seeks Gangadhars permission to take Laxmibai to Bajjirao, in the hope that she would break down before Bajirao. However, Laxmibai remains steadfast and refuses to give the ashes even to Bajjirao. Bajjirao relents to her wish. Gangadhar promises Laxmibai to catch the culprit soon. She suggests to him to find novel ways to trace the criminal. When Sleeman comes to meet Gangadhar, the latter accuses Sleeman of looting them in the name of security. Sleeman retorts that internal security is not the concern of the British. It is announced that anyone who informs the king about the culprit would be awarded 5000 gold coins. Sleeman and Marshall are worried, so Sleeman suggests to Marshall to go underground. The Prime Minister informs the king the names of the three guards who were not on duty on the day of the procession. Meanwhile, the other guards realise that their colleague, Lallan, knows how to make explosives and was not present on duty on the day of the blast.
