While Thakumaa stands in support of the widow, Didimaa blames her for not being concerned about Chandra. Rani gets worried about Chandra's safety. Meanwhile, as the infuriated Brahmins are about to hit Chandra, Bidyalankar Mahashoy comes to his rescue. Bidyalankar Mahashoy tells Aghor Shastri that a widow should only die along with her husband if she chooses to. The widow says that she was being forced to burn with her husband. Pritram thanks Bidyalankar Mahashoy for coming to save Chandra.
