The elders in the Marh family are unhappy with Pritram’s decision of finalising Chandra’s marriage without their consent. Pritram tries to explain, but no one accepts his hurried decision. On the other hand, Ratna Thakur and the villagers harass and warn Harekrishna to cancel Rani’s wedding, saying that her marriage to such a rich household will affect the entire village. Both Chandra and Rani are extremely worried about their family’s respect and do not want to be the reason for their pain.
