Mathur feels guilty that he has accused Jagadamba of trying to replace Karuna in his heart. He begs Jagadamba to go back home for Rani, Chandra and Bhupal. The priest advises Jagadamba to forgive Mathur, her ‘Bholanath’. Jagadamba agrees to go back upon hearing that Chandra is ill. At the Marh house, everyone gathers to greet Jagadamba and Mathur when suddenly Tarkalankar, the head of the orthodox Brahmin Society, and Umacharan and other priests come to talk to Jagadamba.
