Upon visiting Anna's ancestral home, Nene and Raghu take Anna's signatures on some papers by cajoling him. Later, Nana frightens Anna by speculating about Pandu testifying against him, assuming Pandu had witnessed Tatya's murder. Scared at the thought of being hanged, a panicked Anna finds Pandu talking to a scarecrow clothed in Tatya's clothes and locks him in a room for perpetuity. Further, he threatens Indu by saying that he will kill Pandu if she ever attempts to free him.
