She was the only female Muslim ruler of the Delhi Sultanate and the first female Muslim ruler of the subcontinent. It depicts her dilemmas as a Sultan and her struggles as a woman. The TV show comprises 170 episodes, with each episode having an approximate duration of 22 minutes.

Plot of Razia Sultan TV Show

The story of this Hindi TV show revolves around the life of Razia Sultan who was made ruler by her father Sultan Iltutmish despite having many sons. The son of Sultan and Shah Turkan, Rukn Uddin Firoz is an arrogant man who humiliates people. One day, Razia clashes with Rukn Uddin in the public market leading to bitter enmity between the two. The son of Sultan and Qutub Begum is Shehzaadah Naasir. During Eid celebrations, Qutub Begum and Shah Turkan ask Sultan for the Subedaari of Delhi for their respective sons, to which he responds by favouring Shah Turkan, much to Razia’s dislike. The story further shows how Razia Sultan had to overcome various odds on her journey to the Delhi Sultanate. She has to face and outsmart several conniving and murderous men, and fight to free female slaves from a slave market wherein she herself gets imprisoned. Razia Sultan’s hard resolve to beat all obstacles in a heavily male-dominated mediaeval society has been brilliantly portrayed in the show.
