Topobroto takes Nayan to the edge of the river. Not being able to find an oarsman, Nayan herself rows the boat towards the middle of the river. After the water enters the boat, the passengers jump into the river barring Jeet. Jeet falls into the river and struggles to swim. Nayan saves Jeet from drowning. Dripto hears Kumu complaining to God against Nayan of being mentally disturbed and ugly. Dripto gets reluctant to marry Nayan. Nayan assumes Jeet to be Kalpana's son, which confuses the Jeet.
