Lord Bentinck of the East India Company bestows the ‘Rai Bahadur’ title on Chandra, who expresses gratitude to the East India Company. Radhakanta Deb and Motilal Seal praise Chandra’s efforts in helping the starving people of Bengal. Chandra mentions that it was Mathur who risked his life to bring the food grains. Lord Bentinck then shakes Mathur’s hand. Chandra gives the ‘Rai Bahadur’ trophy to Rani for her selfless service towards others. Later, Mathur remembers Karuna on her birthday.
