Last year, there was an incident about which Sonam wrote a blog entry. When a tragic occurrence occurred, she was visiting her cousin Priya Singh’s house. She had posted recordings of two houseboys tormenting rescued cats during the outbreak. On September 16, Sonam’s cousin Priya’s husband chance to examine the CCTV tape of the storeroom where the saved animals were kept and discovered that the two trustworthy houseboys were observed choking and threshing the rescued animals.
When it comes to sustainability, Sonam Kapoor had some great green advice tips for living a more sustainable lifestyle. Sonam’s advice was that saying no to meat for one day a week, recycling, eliminating single-use plastics, or moving to reusable bottles, would help the environment be more Eco- friendly.
Sonam Kapoor is a huge advocate of the LGBTQIA community. She has been vocal about her rights from the very start. She feels that it is one of the most important things that she fights for and even people should. She had launched a trailer of the movie Sisak, India’s first silent gay love tale. She even went about to do a film on the same, Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga where she played the role of a lesbian who was struggling to come of out the closet due to her conservative family.
Sonam Kapoor is herself a feminist and she has very strong views about it. In an interview, she had said that she believes in feminism and believes in equal opportunities for men and women. And everyone should have the same choices in lifestyle regardless of their gender, race, or caste.

Sonam Kapoor has been a vocal supporter of breast cancer awareness campaigns for the past 14 years as she lost her aunt because of it. She was a member of Elle Carnival for a Cause as the brand ambassador for the Elle Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. She feels that the only way to beat cancer is to catch it early, which requires knowledge of testing and a healthy lifestyle. She hopes that she can make a small change to this.
On the work front, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is a versatile actor. She has done 21 films along with a national film award and has given some big blockbuster hits like I Hate Love Stories, Raanjhanaa, Aisha, Neerja, etc. and now she is all set to come back on the big screen again with a crime thriller film ‘Blind’.
