As a result of SSR’s death, a new trend of #boycottbollywood started on social media and thousands of users became a part of this trend. Several users commented saying they would never watch the films that have ‘star kids’ in lead roles and will completely boycott Bollywood as an industry.
The controversial subject of nepotism was also touched upon and many users expressed their wish for Bollywood to get rid of it. When the poster of Alia Bhatt’s film Sadak 2 was released, it faced a lot of backlash from the netizens. Many users said they are against Sadak 2 only because Alia Bhatt is a star kid. Reportedly, while some users said that they are going to try their best to ensure Sadak 2 is the ‘most disliked film’ of the year, other users said that they are going to continue fighting for SSR because ‘truth cannot stay hidden for long’.
