Usually, a love story revolves around a boy and a girl, and their families are either sidelined or not taken into consideration. But Zee Punjabi serial Heer Ranjha’s success mantra is presenting the tale with a slow but interesting pace, giving every actor a chance to shine and many moments in the show to make them stand out.

The Punjabi serial opens with Mojju carrying an unconscious Ranjha (Amaninder Pal Singh)in his arms. He runs to Darvesh and requests him to save the boy, who is bitten by a snake. On the other side, Banto (Dr Ambar Bedi) tries to poison her sister-in-law and her unborn child aka Heer (Sara Gurpal). Destiny plays an interesting role and both of them survive. What a beginning!

When Mojju travels to Jhang from Takht Hazara for finding a solution to water scarcity, it irks Kaido (Rahul Jaittly). He mercilessly kills Kaala who is from Takht Hazara and his lover Meher also gives up her life. Later, there is bloodshed where both Takht Hazara and Jhang fight with each other. Mojju gets to know that it was Kaido’s evil plan, but until then, Kaido appears and kills Mojju.

A few years later, Heer visits the annual fair and loses her way, all thanks to Kaido. Ranjha has abducted Heer and initially, he hates her for belonging to Jhang. But he can’t hate her for long and even confesses his change of heart to Darvesh. This sparks the love for Heer in Ranjha’s heart. 

Ranjha is a saviour to Heer. He has saved her life before and even when they grow up. When they plan to meet secretly, a snake appears before Heer and is ready to bite her. But Ranjha prays to god, plays his vanjali, and manages to save Heer as the snake follows Ranjha’s flute. After that, Heer and Ranjha hug each other and the moment freezes.
