The most popular comedy series that began in 1995, had come back with a bang in 2017. The reboot version is known as Hum Paanch Phir Se, which revolved around the famous Mathur family but with different characters. Comical actor Sooraj Thapar is seen as Anand and Seema Pandey plays Bina. Their daughters are as follows: Ruchi Tripathi as Meenakshi, Ambalika Sapra as Radhika, Sylvia Chadha as Sweety, Jayashree V. as Kajal and Rimmi Srivastava as Chhoti. 1. Bhaade Ka Baap

In a dark room, Kajal makes a shady phone call to a supposed goon and demands for a father on rent. She negotiates the price to 500 INR when he quotes his charges, i.e., 1000 INR. She threatens the goon of making his life if he didn’t keep his word. When Anand just comes out of the shower, he gets scared of Sweety who wears a face mask. Anand’s first wife Priya talks through her framed picture and tells that without Bina, this house becomes an aeroplane without a pilot. The latter has gone to see her ailing uncle in Kanpur. Anand says that he will prove that he can run the house in Bina’s absence. He fails miserably and Meenakshi shoulders the same responsibility. The other sisters join her and do their mother proud.

Set in Banaras, the Mathur house is surrounded by lakes and birds. On a bright, sunny day, Sweety opens the door for Anand. Kajal holds a table fan in front of his face. Basically, they try to butter him up so that they can buy a lottery ticket. Chhoti supports them by stating reasonable arguments. Finally, when they get a ticket, their hopes rise up. Derived from a renowned song and literally meaning “we shall overcome”, this episode revolves around a weird plan. While Sweety is pacing up and down in heels and dreaming of entering the Bollywood industry, Radhika screams loudly from the bedroom. All the sisters huddle around to learn that couples who fight a lot are believed to truly love each other. They try to break their parents apart.

Anand starts the day by singing to himself in front of the mirror, with only a towel around his waist. He is extremely happy and cheerful because his eldest daughter, Meenakshi is set to get married. Anand’s mausi calls him on his phone and proposes a well-groomed boy for Meenakshi. Always scared of his mausi, Anand tries to digress the topic. Does Meenakshi get married soon?
