Vijay Raaz plays one of the characters who is in love with Ayushmann Khurrana’s voice as Pooja on the ‘friendship phoneline’. Vijay Raaz plays the role of a cop who is also a shayar however, he calls himself a ‘sayar’. His whole relationship with Pooja is based on how well she listens to all his poems, which are so bad that they are gold.

3. Annu Kapoor's Middle-Aged Romance

Annu Kapoor plays the role of Ayushmann’s father in Dream Girl. He is a widower who never fell in love with anyone after his wife passed away. He develops feelings for a girl on a frienship phoneline named Pooja. The comedy of errors that ensues when Ayushmann finds out he is flirting with his father take the story to a whole other level.

4. Nidhi Bisht's Male-Bashing Feminist Rant

Nidhi Bisht plays the role of, Roma, a lesbian who hates men. Her entry in the movie may divide opinion on her views but is surely entertaining to watch. She puts a man in his place and proves he is a gold-digger. She saves one of her employees from heartbreak too after proving that her boyfriend is not just a gold-digger but also a cheater.

As is the trend in all social comedy dramas, Dream Girl has a long monologue of how society needs to improve. What makes this different if that Ayushmann is dressed as a woman while delivering this long and powerful scene with an effortless ease that few actors can manage.
