All of us are guilty of watching reruns of F.R.I.E.N.D.S, till date. Are we right, or are we right? The superhit American sitcom may have ended years ago, but it lives on in our hearts forever. Like F.R.I.E.N.D.S, there are many Indian shows that have such tremendous recall value. For example, remember Zee TV’s once popular show Hum Paanch starring Ashok Saraf? And what about The Zee Horror Show that sent chills down our spine? There’s another such show from the list- Zee Marathi’s once-upon-a-time hit show Dil Dosti Duniyadaari.

The popular youth show starring Suvrat Joshi, Sakhi Gokhale, Pooja Thombre, Pushkaraj Chirputkar, Swanandi Tikekar and Amey Wagh is still fondly remembered for its unique plot and presentation. The series tells the story of six friends who live in Mumbai together and make a living in the city. You can consider this show as India’s answer to F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Here are 5 reasons why you should revisit Dil Dosti Duniyadaari.
1. A good mix of characters
Each character in the show is so different from the other, that you can’t help but relate to at least one of the six. Where on one hand we have a scholar like Sujay, on the other the spirited Minal keeps things light. Reshma is the shy and coy girl, hailing from a small town and Anna is the naive soul who gets taken for a ride easily. Ashu is old-world and Kaivalya is the cynical one, who doesn’t trust easily.
2. The relatable storyline
The six characters live under one roof and naturally, go through their share of ups and downs. Their problems are relatable, especially to the youth. Unlike the typical dramatic daily soaps where every situation is exaggerated, DDD is a breath of fresh air where the narrative is simple and realistic.
3. The witty humour
DDD steers clear of slapstick and senseless comedy. Instead, we are met with witty one liners, that can actually make you laugh. It’s hard to find good humour in TV shows these days, wouldn’t you agree?
4. The performances
What also makes DDD a refreshing watch, are the splendid performances by the characters. The actors do justice to their characters and make each one, stand out.
5. The perfect escape
If you are fed up of dramatic soaps and need a breather, DDD makes for a perfect watch due to its refreshing content. If you’re looking for entertainment, this show has umpteen of it to make you laugh out loud.
