Baisakhi means fun, divinity, family and a new beginning. Attending Kirtan Samagam, Nagar Kirtan, having langar at Gurudwara Sahab and doing sewa is the ideal day plan for the Baisakhi celebration. Unfortunately, this all will go for a toss this year due to the Coronavirus scare and #Lockdown. However, we have made a backup plan for you.

1. Begin your day with Sant Maskeen Ji’s Katha
Listening to Sant Maskeen Ji‘s Katha is an enlightening and spiritual experience. Usually, we begin our day by visiting Gurudwara Sahab, but since we can’t go this time to pray, sit at home, pray for a while and then listen to Sant Maskeen Ji. There can be no better start to the auspicious day than listening to Maskeen Ji‘s words of wisdom. Maskeen Ji‘s Katha touches various aspects of life. He explains Gurubani verses in-depth, shares his unbelievable experience of life, and encourages you to adapt to change for a better life. Maskeen Ji’s show Gyan Da Sagar has some kind of magic because once you watch an episode, you’ll become an admirer of Sant Ji’s knowledge and will find a ray of hope even in dark times. Watch an episode of Jeevan Yatra by Maskeen Ji here.
2. Give a treat to your elders by cooking for them
Every year, langar is made for millions of devotees. We all eat and praise the Lord for it. Due to lockdown, these special samagam’s will not be there. So what? We can give our mother a break from the kitchen and can make some delicious food for the family. Take the challenge to cook food with the intention of giving a treat to your parents. If you have any difficulty in cooking food, we have a list of five dishes to make this Baisakhi a memorable one.
3. Tune in to foot-tapping music
Once you’re done with your mouth-watering lunch, you need to digest it too. So rather than having a nap time, pump up the volume of your speaker and tune into hit Punjabi tracks. Dance it out with your mother, father, and siblings. Do the Bhangra, or just dance like there is no tomorrow. Dance to Diljit Dosanjh and Neeru Bajwa’s celebratory song Mor here:
4. Tune in to a sitcom for a family time
In the evening, you and your family are sipping tea and having mathi. At this time, a funny show like Vilayti Bhabhi or a chat show like Hasdeyaan De Ghar Vasde can add more value to your time and make the family laugh. Watch Ranjeet and Shakti Kapoor like never before in Hasdeyaan De Ghar Vasde.
5. End your day by watching 70 MM magic
Yes, you got it right. Dinner plan is set and you’re ready with your food and dessert, but what will add more flavour to it is a comical movie like Binnu Dhillon’s Band Vaaje, Kala Shah Kala, or a classical one, Meher Mittal’s Lambardarni. This is how you’ll end your Baisakhi with a bang!
