1. Ombrophobia-fear of the rain

The fear of rain can cause severe panic attacks in some people. This phobia is associated with several facts such as rain being synonymous with depression or the fact that children are often asked to not step out in the rain with the fear of catching a cold.

2. Trypophobia- fear of holes

Thousands of people are reported to be suffering from this phobia, which is the fear of holes, mainly a collection of them found in commodities such as sponges, honeycombs or plants with small holes in them. Trypophobics can feel nauseous, itchy, or even have panic attacks.

3. Nomophobia- fear of being without a mobile phone coverage

This a legit phobia in today’s time where people suffer from anxiety if they have cell phones without coverage, data or charge. According to reports, more than half a million people in the UK are suffering from this.

4. Somniphobia- fear of falling asleep

Where for some of us, no amount of sleep seems enough, there are some that are afraid of falling asleep. These people associate sleeping with dying or in some cases, fear sleeping due to recurring nightmares and troubling dreams.

5. Xanthophobia- fear of the color yellow

People suffering from this phobia fear everything yellow, including the sun. Some may even have panic attacks even at the mention of yellow.

6. Turophobia-fear of cheese 

Some of us can’t imagine our life without cheese. But did you know that there are some people who will run for miles if they see cheese? This phobia is generally associated with a traumatic incident involving cheese.

7. Papaphobia- fear of the Pope

Certain people have an extreme fear of holy and sacred personalities including the Pope.
