8 Outstanding Films To Celebrate Sandalwood Actress Pooja Gandhi’s 36th Birthday

Born in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, on 7 October 1983, say happy birthday to one of the best actresses of Sandalwood, Sanjana Gandhi, aka Pooja Gandhi. While she got into TV shows first before starting films, the birthday girl rose to fame with the 2006 film Mungaru Male, starring opposite the Golden Star Ganesh. This film ran in theatres successfully for a year while giving an overall theatre run of over 800 days throughout the state.

Her next hit came in the form of Milana, in 2007, where she was cast opposite the Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar and this film too had a theatre-run of over 400 days. Pooja’s first award, however, came after her work in the film Krishna, starring opposite Ganesh again, in 2007. As she continued to do more and more films, she broke all the language barriers and has since acted in Tamil, Hindi, Bengali and one Malayalam film too.

Her next award-winning film would come after a decade later in the form of the megahit film Dandupalya, in 2012. She was credited with two awards for the film, Suvarna Film Award for Best Actress and SIIMA Award for Best Actress in a Negative Role.
