The film is based on former cricketer Kapil Dev’s autobiography and how India won its first World Cup in 1983.

As the film had been completed a long time ago and was scheduled to be released in theaters on April 10, 2020. However, due to the ongoing Covid-19, the film was delayed, but it is now scheduled to be released in theatres on December 24, 2021. As the film approaches its release date, the cast and crew are gearing up for a flurry of promotional activities. The video of the crew promoting their film in Mumbai has gone viral, and the crew is very excited about it.

Deepika Padukone produces the film, which is directed by Kabir Khan and is going to be released in different languages which are in Telugu, Tamil, Kanada, and Malayalam. In the film, Ranveer Singh, who plays Kapil Dev, is praised by the audience for his outstanding performance. Deepika, who is also producing and acting in the film, is praised for her portrayal of Kapil Dev’s wife Romi.

Previously, Rohit Shetty took to Instagram and shared the poster of the 83 with a caption congratulating him on reaching 75 million views on the trailer. Tahira Kashyap, Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife, was recently seen twitting and appreciating both Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. Ranveer Singh for his outstanding acting, as the audience could not stop clapping and giving standing ovations during the screening, and Deepika Padukone for producing such excellent films.
