June 13 was when Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his apartment in Mumbai and 88 days since then, the mystery behind his death still remains unknown. The Bollywood actor was claimed by the police to be found hanging in his room by an act of suicide. What followed later was hue and cry from his fans about star kids being given preferential treatment over outsiders in Bollywood. A month later, while the Mumbai Police was involved in questioning prominent names from the film industry, Sushant’s father registered an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty in Patna.
Thus began a tussle between Mumbai Police and Bihar Police and the issue quickly turned political. The blame game went on for weeks, even as demands for an independent enquiry into the matter started coming from all corners of the country. The Supreme Court, taking cognizance of this, finally handed the case over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on August 19. Along with the central investigative body, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) have also gotten involved in the investigation into the actor’s death, over these 88 days.
