Sachin Khedekar plays Hari in Mahesh Manjrekar’s film Kaksparsh. His character has all the qualities that make him an ideal man, starting with the fact that is warm and accepting. Hari welcomes his sister-in-law Uma (Priya Bapat) with open arms and makes her feel comfortable. He takes care of her needs and makes her feel like she is part of her new family.

Hari is not a man to turn a blind eye towards his values and principles, unless he has a reason to. He follows traditions and is dedicated towards them. It’s not his religious quality that is endearing but the fact that he is loyal to his faith.

Hari is a strict follower of traditions and yet is sensible enough to ditch them, if he feels they are causing pain to someone. He is not blinded by his faith and can differentiate between religion and doing what is right. In a scene, Uma, who is widowed after her husband Mahadev’s death, is forced to shave her head, as per the norms. But Hari steps in and protects her, going against society. He isn’t afraid to rebel to protect his loved one, even if it means going against rules that have been followed since ages.

Hari wouldn’t have been able to take a stand for Uma, had he not empathised with her situation. He belongs to an Orthodox Brahmin family and yet he keeps that fact aside to show care and sympathy towards her.

Hari consoles and comforts Uma when she is scared. He hugs her and assures her that everything will be alright and that he’s got her back.

Through the course of the film Uma and Hari eventually develop feelings for each other and yet, the latter doesn’t give in to his temptations. He is aware that there is a significant age difference between the two and that he should know better. They say love is blind and Hari still manages to make wise decisions and do the right thing.
