Swami Samarth took samadhi in the village of Akkalkot near Satara. The saint was highly learned and supposedly possessed supernatural powers. The serial has some powerful characters and it highlights lessons that each one of us can imbibe to lead a successful and happy life. Let’s take a look at Swami Samarth first, who as understood by now, is the protagonist. The saint is said to have no records of being born and is believed to have spent 22 years of his life trying to reform Akkalkot. On the show, the character’s aura is infectious and speaks volumes of his divinity.

2. Shastribua

Shastribua is a character that most non-conformists and atheists will relate to. Being rich and the head of the village, he decides to rule over the poor until he hears of Swami and visits him to prove that the former is fake. Shastribua’s character and the graph shown by him on the show makes for an interesting watch.

3. Manyaba

Though only in the show for a few episodes, Manyaba’s character will definitely leave a lasting impression on you. The young boy is the only one who survives in his family as his loved ones drink poison to save themselves from the wrath of Shastribua. Manyaba is saved by Swami Samarth and this is a significant part of the show as this is where Shastribua starts suspecting the latter.

4. Basappa

The poor traveler is blessed by Swami and is transformed into a rich landlord. Basappa’s strong belief in Swami and his kind heart make him an interesting character to watch.

5. Nagya

The poor farmer loses his eyesight and prays to Swami Samarth for help. The deity restores Nagya’s vision and when Shastribua learns about this, he becomes furious as he realises that Swami might truly be blessed with powers.

6. Janabai

The lady is blessed by Swami Samarth on the pious event of Ashadhi Ekadashi. Janabai plays an important role in the show as she influences Shastribua by narrating the positives of having Swami Samarth in their village.
