It’s international dance day and while anybody can dance, there are some who are simply exceptional. We want to take this day to remember some of the iconic dancers of our generation who started their careers on ZEE TV’s Dance India Dance. Here’s a brief look at some of these dancing stars.

Salman Yusuff Khan, the winner of the first season of Dance India Dance, was also the first real star of the show. After wowing the judges on Dance India Dance he went on to play vital roles in ABCD and ABCD 2 directed by ace choreographer Remo D’souza. Shakti Mohan won the second season of Dance India Dance. From there on, she starred as a contestant and judge on multiple reality shows, also playing the role of a dancer on a TV show. Punit Pathak came in third in the second season of Dance India Dance. Since then he has gone on to become a mentor and judge on other dance shows. He also played a vital role in the the dance movie franchise ABCD and ABCD 2. Watch his iconic performance on Dance India Dance from minute 14:22 here.

Raghav Juyal finished third in the third season of Dance India Dance. He gathered attention for his dancing skills as well has comic timing. Dharmesh, affectionately called Dharmesh Sir, was the runner up in the second season of Dance India Dance. He joined Raghav, Shakti and Punit to create the movie Nawabzaade. He also played a vital role in movies like ABCD and ABCD2. He has also appeared as a mentor on Dance India Dance Lil Masters. She was the runner-up in the first season of Dance India Dance. Before this, she had already won another dance reality show four times. Post this, she worked with Shakti on a TV show as a dancer.

Prince was another performer who stood out from the first season of Dance India Dance. He went on to mentor kids in Dance India Dance Little Masters in the second season. He also acted in the movie ABCD.

She was the runner-up in the first season of Dance India Dance. From there she went on to act in TV shows like Sanjog Se Bani Sangini and Hello Pratibha along with other web series. Watch one of her most memorable performances on Dance India Dance at minute 05:37 here.

Mayuresh is another contestant from the first season who went on to make a name for himself. He is seen as a choreographer on other dance reality shows. He also acted in movies like ABCD and Machine. Watch his performance in Dance India Dance at minute 42:30 here.

He was the fourth finalist in the first season of Dance India Dance. He has gone on to perform as a choreographer on dance reality shows. He also was a mentor on TV shows like DID Lil’ Masters and DID Super Moms.
