Zee Cine Awards brings out the best of talents from across Bollywood. This year the audience were not allowed in the venue because of Coronvirus but the Zee Cine Awards are set to raise the temperatures in your home too.

Catch the celebs passing by the red carpet where they play fun games imitating children’s expressions and are wowed by a mentalist. The red carpet even was hosted by Zee TV stars Shraddha Arya from Kundali Bhagya, Kanika Mann and Nishant Singh Malkani from Guddan Tumse Na Ho Payega.

Rajkumar Rao and Aparshakti Khurrana made three entries on stage on bikes, horses and from a parachute. They kick off the ceremony with the technical awards. The Best Cinematography and editing Gully Boy, while War won the award for best action. The awards for costume and set design went to Kalank.

Maniesh Paul introduces the music awards with a fun game with Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik.  Kabir Singh won the Best music award which was Amaal Malik’s first Zee Cine award. Sachet and Parampara who also won for Kabir Singh thanked their loved ones.  The Best Lyrics when to Teri Mitti from Kesari. While Shreya Ghoshal took home the Best female playback singer away from Ghar More Pardesiya from Kalank while the best singer male award went to Arijit Singh for Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas

Ayushmann Khurrana’s film Article 15 won the award for best story and screenplay. Ayushmann followed up this award with his special performance of his songs from Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan and others.

Rajkumar performs with Tara Sutaria perform. He then goes around with a fake pregnant belly with Aparshakti to play games with Kartik Aaryan and Govinda. What follows are the debut awards and the winners were:

Best Debut Female – Tara Sutaria and Ananya Pandey Student Of The Year 2
Best Debut Male – Siddhant Chaturvedi Gully Boy and Vishal Jethwa Mardaani 2
Best Debut director – Sandeep Reddy Vanga Kabir Singh, Aditya Dhar for Uri

Sara Ali Khan performs a special medley of cabaret songs from the older generation and hosts a segment revealing the lesser known secrets from Bollywood. The next set of awards went to the lesser appreciated roles in Hindi Films.

Best supporting actor female – Bhumi Pednekar for Bala
Best Supporting actor male – Soham Majumdar for Kabir Singh
Best Actor in a comic role – Kartik Aryan for Pati Patni Aur Woh and Diljit Dosanjh for Good Newwz
Best actor in a negative role – Manoj Pahwa for Article 15

Kriti Sanon performs on popular item numbers. This was her first time she wasn’t performing on her own songs. Zee Cine Awards then honoured the judges of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs 2020 Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu with the Bollywood Icons award

Nora Fatehi performs her popular dance number Garmi dance track with a fireshow and a dance in water too. Then they announced the best film and director award from the critics. Here are the winners:

Best Director – Zoya Akhtar Gully Boy
Best Film – Anubhav Sinha for Article 15

Ranveer Singh performs a tribute for dancing superstars from every generation and lastly includes his best dance songs. This was followed by the critics awards for best actor male and female.

Best Actor Female – Taapsee Pannu for Badla

Best Actor Male – Hritik Roshan for Super 30

After the Critic’s choice, the awards for popular categories based on audience voting were handed to the winner. Gully Boy sweeped the categories winning the best film . Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhat both won best actor awards for their roles in Gully Boy. Ranveer Singh also won the best song award for Apna Time Aayega from Gully Boy with Divine and Dub Sharma.

Hritik Roshan by far the most skilled actor-dancer in Bollwood closes the show with a performance on songs right from Dhoom to Ghungroo.
