The ZEE5 Original film Ateet released recently to good reviews. This film stars Rajeev Khandelwal, Priyamani and Sanjay Suri in leading roles. Sanjay Suri has starred in Bhram, a horror series with ZEE5 alongwith Kalki Koechlin too. The similarities don’t just end there. Here’s why you should watch the horror series Bhram if you liked Ateet.

In Ateet, Rajeev Khandelwal plays the role of an army captain who is declared killed in action. However, he returns 10 years later suffering from PTSD and trying to get back to his family. This film is a psychological thriller where one of the actions of the past return to haunt the characters in the present. Ateet is shot in the hill station Ooty and is based around the life of a military cantonment there. Ateet shows the obsessive side of love, where both Rajeev Khandelwal and Sanjay Suri’s characters are in love with the same woman.

The ZEE5 Original series Bhram sees Kalki Koechlin suffering from PTSD after the death of her partner. She too is returning from the mental institution after 6 months, and has frequent hallucinations. In Bhram, Kalki is able to see the ghosts of people who had unfulfilled romances just like she did. This series is set in Shimla and shows the boarding school life in that city. Bhram is a psychological thriller which includes a dark secret in the form of the forest god, Ukkala.
