Tera Rang Chadeya: Here’s how the new show starring Angad Hasija and Neha Thakur kicked off

Nothing excites us more than a new beginning. Zee Punjabi proudly brings you a fresh take on romance and individuality with Tera Rang Chadeya. The Angad Hasija and Neha Thakur-starrer’s first episode is out and, in short, we will say, “Fasten your seatbelts.” But if you want to know more, read the review.

The episode starts with the echoes of Waheguru. On a bright sunny day, we get a sneak-peak into Seerat’s (Neha Thakur) life. Seerat’s mother, Kamal, is searching for her.

She asks her younger daughter Minty to help her find Seerat. Minty is busy reading a magazine article about her crush, JD (Angad Hasija), but she goes to look for Seerat. She finds her on the rooftop, getting dried clothes from the line.

If Kamal is a strict mother, then the daughters have a darling father too. Out of the trio of sisters, Seerat is the most sensible and closest to her mother. Seerat gets a chance to do an internship with a renowned publication in Chandigarh. So, in a couple of days, Seerat will leave to make her own mark on the world.

Except for Seerat and Kamal, everyone else in the family is smitten by superstar JD aka Jimmy Dhillon. Their neighbours come to the house and request if they can see the telecast of an awards night on their TV as JD will be getting an award.

Enter JD

The story then moves to a different segment. We get to see flashy lights, photographers, and fans running and hooting for their star JD. He makes his blingy entrance on the red carpet of the awards night. Right from his walk to his gaze, you can sense his arrogance from every angle. JD is so rude and brash that he refuses to go to the stage to take the award and asks the host to come down and give it to him. While watching this awards night on TV, Seerat is irked by his ego.

Seerat’s father announces to the neighbours about her writing internship and distributes sweets to celebrate. Seerat wants to bring a change in society and hopes that she can address real issues through her pen.

The show successfully captures our imagination by its diverse characterisation. Seerat is a strong, sweet, well-mannered girl. She loves her mother, despite their differing opinions about many things. The character of JD tells us the off-camera reality of an artiste whose success and money has gone to his head. Neha as Seerat charms the screen whereas Angad Hasija burns it with his presence. You might rue over Hasija’s short screen time in the first episode as he is there for only a few minutes. All we can say is that the story will be worth waiting for!
