Mithai: This Adrit Roy and Soumitrisha Kundu starrer testifies that opposites indeed attract

Although there are plenty of love stories we get to watch these days, the latest Bengali television show, Mithai, is not just another ordinary one. Starring Adrit Roy as Siddhartha and Soumitrisha Kundu as Mithai in leading roles, the show revolves around the life of Mithai and her interactions with the Modak family, especially Siddhartha. Given how different Mithai and Siddhartha are, it will be interesting to witness how they fit into each other’s drastically different lives.

We have watched several characters fall in love and witnessed what follows after they get together. However, there are several reasons why we think Mithai and Siddhartha’s love story would be exceptionally captivating to watch. Given how different in nature both of them are, we are curious to see what the future holds for them. But we are sure of the innumerable fun and romantic moments that the potential couple will have together.

Hailing from a completely rural household and lifestyle, Mithai has no understanding of what a typical urban day or life looks like. She enjoys every living moment to the fullest and loves making sweets for a living. She also has a strong sense of contentment about life in totality and believes in spreading joy like confetti. An orphan, who was raised by her uncle and aunt, Mithai is extremely caring and traditional by nature. She excels at making remarkably delicious sweets and specialises in the preparation of the popular sweet Monohara. Ironically, Monohara is also the name of Siddhartha’s family’s house.

On the other hand, Siddhartha is the complete opposite. A practical, serious, determined and goal-oriented man, Siddhartha has grown up and lived in the city for years. Unlike Mithai, he is a part of a giant joint family, who believes in togetherness. However, despite belonging to such a large family, he tends to separate himself from most things that they do together. Siddhartha focuses on himself and his career and has huge aspirations in life.

Despite being so different from each other in so many ways, Mithai and Siddhartha, both have exceptionally strong personalities. So it will be an interesting journey to watch the two characters come closer with time. Although they say opposites attract, will the ‘sweet’ show have all things sweet in store for Mithai and Siddhartha? Will they succeed at setting aside their differences and accepting each other for who they truly are?
