Shankar To Remake Anniyan With Ranveer Singh In Ambi’s Role?

South Indian director Shankar might soon make a new Hindi film which will be an adaptation of his 2005 film, Anniyan. This film was based on the life of a schizophrenic man who has three different personalities, one of which poses a serious threat to society. The film starred Vikram in the lead role and was a blockbuster at the box office. This film was also dubbed in Hindi and was named Aparichit. According to sources Shankar is planning to release an official remake of the film and is also planning to cast Ranveer Singh in the lead role. The director has not yet confirmed the details about the film but if the movie is remade, it is expected to make good money at the box office with its strong content.

Various south Indian films have been dubbed in Hindi, in the past, to reach a wider audience and one of the most famous ones of the lot is the film Aparichit. This film was originally made in Tamil and revolved around a man named Ambi and his two other alter egos which create a lot of conflict in his mind. The film featured actor Vikram in the lead role and he was seen playing three different characters in the movie.

According to the video attached above, director Shankar, who worked on the original film, Anniyan, is planning to remake the film in Bollywood with Ranveer Singh in the lead role. According to the sources the project is still being planned and has not yet been made official by the team. Actor Ranveer Singh, who has lately been shooting for the film Circus, reportedly took a few days off from the schedule and visited Shankar in Chennai. Most people have been suspecting that the meet-up was to sign Ranveer Singh in the lead role as they believe he is just the right fit. However, none of the speculations can be confirmed unless the team releases an official statement.
