Sushant Singh Rajput won big at the recent hearing of the Delhi High Court. It all began when a certain Bollywood filmmaker wanted to make a film inspired by the life of the late actor. But Sushant’s father did not want any film or series to be made on the life of his son. Find out what happened next below.
Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput passed away last year. Since his death and the mysterious circumstances surrounding it, many filmmakers were interested in making a film on his life. Filmmaker Sanoj Mishra even shot the film and released a trailer for the same. The film was titled, Nyay: The Justice. The moment this film’s trailer dropped many people were in awe of it. Moreover, the release date of the film was also announced.

The film was expected to release in June this year but the moment the news of this film reached Suhant Singh Rajput’s family, they criticized it. Sushant Singh Rajput’s father especially was angry about the film since it was allegedly based on the life of his late son. He went ahead and filed a case against the makers of the film in High Court and strongly objected to a movie being made on Sushant’s life without their permission.
The late actor’s father does not want any kind of content being on Sushant’s life. He does not want Bollywood to rake in money by exploiting the late actor’s life. When the hearing regarding this case began in court, director Sanoj Mishra also took the stand and spoke about it. He said that he does not intend to hurt the sentiments of Sushant Singh Rajput’s family. After making this statement in court, Mishra also changed the name of this film.

As mentioned earlier, this film was first titled, Nyay: The Justice. But now the film’s name has been changed and it has been titled ‘Shashank’. They have once again assured the late Bollywood actor’s fans and family that the film is not based on Sushant Singh Rajput’s life. The Shashank director further mentioned that the film is based on the life of struggling artists in the industry who want to make it big. But many of them fail to find the work.
Talking about the previously released trailer, the visuals of it hold quite a lot of resemblance to some of the events that took place in Sushant Singh Rajput’s life. Hence, many audience members believed that the film was meant to be as an ode to SSR’s life. But after the case filed by Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, as mentioned earlier, the film’s title has been changed. Hence, this change is a big win for Sushant Singh Rajput’s family.
