ED Seizes Assets Of Actor Dino Morea Worth Rs 1.4 Crore Among Others Under PMLA

It seems like Bollywood has been under a bad spell ever since last year. In fact, many popular names from the industry have come under the radar due to some or the other case. Whether it’s CBI, NCB, or now the ED all these organisations have been investigating any and every issue happening in Bollywood. Recently, it was reported that actress Yami Gautam was summoned by the ED to present herself before July 7 as the department had some proof against her. And now, actor Dino Morea‘s assets have been seized by the ED in relation to the Sandesara Group case.

The Sandesara Group Case

According to the ED , this step has been taken due to their involvement in a case related to Nitin Sandesara and Chetan Sandesara’s Gujarat-based pharmaceutical company, Sterling Biotech. Sterling Biotech and its main promoters and directors have allegedly committed a bank fraud worth Rs 16,000 Crore. Out of this, properties worth Rs 14,500 Crores have now been attached to the case making it an even bigger case of money laundering than Nirav Modi’s PNB Scam.

Dino Morea and others involved?

The Enforcement Directorate aka ED has recently seized properties and assets of four people in connection with the money laundering case of the Sterling Biotech group. These four people are Bollywood actors, Dino Morea and Sanjay Khan, Aqeel Abdulkhalil Bachooali popularly known as DJ Aqeel, and the late Congress leader Ahmed Patel’s son-in-law, Irfan Ahmed Siddiqui. Their assets have been seized by the ED under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

Properties and assets seized

The ED claimed that they have seized assets worth Rs 8.79 Crore from these four who are considered to be the top beneficiaries. Out of this, the value of Dino Morea’s assets is Rs 1.4 crore, while that of Sanjay Khan’s remains Rs 3 crore. DJ Aqeel’s assets came up to a total of  Rs 1.98 crore Meanwhile, Irfan Ahmed Siddiqui’ total asset value is Rs 2.41 crore.
