Thalaivii has been one of the most anticipated releases of the year; the makers have been burning the midnight oil to make its release a grand success. In fact, after a lot of postponing, Thalaivii has released in theatres on September 10.
The team of this biographical movie has been hosting screenings for politicians and the film fraternity. A day after a screening in the capital city, the team has hosted a screening in Mumbai. The Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi actress was photographed at the screening wearing a yellow-colored churidar suit with a floral print pattern. Kangana accentuated her look with Punjabi-style shoes and tied her hair in a low bun. Interestingly, the veteran actress and host of a former chat show, Simi Garewal, was also spotted at the Thalaivii screening and was welcomed by Kangana with a warm embrace while they posed for the camera.
Meanwhile, the movie is Kangana’s second biopic after Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, and the actress had worked hard to get into the character of J Jayalalithaa, also known as Amma for the movie. Be it learning Bharatnatyam or learning Tamil, Kangana didn’t run away from taking all the challenges for Thalaivii. Also starring Arvind Swamy, the film has is released in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu languages.
At the screening, the actress was asked about her thoughts on joining politics. On it, Kangana said even to win the panchayat election; one needs the support of the people. She says if the public wants her, she might join, but currently, she is happy with acting. In Thalaivii, Kangana will be seen as Jayalalithaa with Arvind Swami as MGR. The film traces Jayalalithaa’s rise from an actress to a formidable politician of India.
After Kangana’s parents watched the film, the actress reportedly said they wanted her to win the 5th National Award for her performance in Thalaivii. Over the past few days, the film has received a great response from critics and celebs, including Prasoon Joshi, Arjun Rampal, and others. Thalaivii is directed by AL Vijay and has had a theatrical release worldwide in Hindi, Tamil, and Telegu.
