Akshay Kumar And Emraan Hashmi To Team Up For Raj Mehta’s Malayalam Film Driving Licence’s Hindi Remake; Filming To Begin Soon

Akshay Kumar and Emraan Hashmi are now teaming up for the Hindi remake of the Malayalam comedy-drama Driving Licence. As per the online reports, the film will be helmed by Good Newzz director Raj Mehta and bankrolled by Dharma Production. A credible source reveals to a leading publication that this is the first time that the two actors are going to work together. Malayalam film Driving License stars Prithviraj Sukumaran and Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead roles. The report states that Akshay will step into Prithviraj’s shoes and will portray the character of a superstar.

Emraan will play the role of a traffic inspector who is a diehard fan of the superstar played by Akshay Kumar. The shooting is expected to start early next year. Director Raj Mehta is currently wrapping up the shoot of his upcoming film a family drama Jug Jugg Jeeyo that stars Varun Dhawan, Anil Kapoor, Kiara Advani, and Neetu Kapoor in the key roles. Reportedly, the star cast is currently shooting a song in Russia and then they’ll move to the post-production stage of the film.

On the work front, Emraan Hashmi will be seen in Salman Khan’s Tiger 3. Recently, he took to social media to share a photo before heading to Turkey, where the cast and crew of Tiger 3 were shooting. Akshay Kumar, on the other hand, will be treating his fans with his back-to-back projects, once the theatre’s resume. The superstar has Sooryavanshi, Bell Bottom, Atrangi Re, Prithviraj, Raksha Bandhan, and Ram Setu in the pipeline. Well, Akshay Kumar is done filming some of these films while they are still in the pre-production phase.

Earlier, Emraan Hashmi has turned co-author with Bilal Siddiqi, for his book- The Kiss of Life, where he gave a glimpse of his life. The book The Kiss Of Life is autobiographical that is based on him being stunned by his life. But when it came to writing the prologue, Emraan had approached Akshay Kumar and Kumar had happily agreed and penned the prologue for the same.
