Vicky Kaushal Shares Fond Memories From The One Time He Interacted With Late Irrfan Khan For Five Minutes

Vicky Kaushal has established his name in the industry with deliveries like Sanju and Uri: The Surgical Strike which became a turning point in his career. The actor has been flying high on success ever since. His recent release on the web space directed by Shoojit Sircar has got him rave reviews.

A lesser known fact is that the role in Shoojit Sircar’s directorial was initially intended for the late Irrfan Khan. Asked how difficult it was for him to take up a role meant for an actor of Khan’s calibre, who was often called legendary for his acting skills, Kaushal says it’s a matter of huge honour more than anything else.

The actor, however, was certain there was no question of filling his shoes or matching his legacy, because “it’s not possible.”

Speaking if Vicky Kaushal wanted to catch up with Late Irrfan Khan’s excellence and talent Kaushal shared that actually he never took that pressure about it because he knows that Irrfan Khan was in a different league of actors. There was no question of filling his shoes or matching his legacy because it’s not possible. In his heart, he was just feeling like he wanted his blessings to be there with him while he attempt to play his part. Kaushal really hopes that he’s achieved at least 1 percent of what he could’ve achieved as an actor with the same part but this film would be Kaushal’s humble tribute to Irrfan Khan.

Vicky also took a trip down the memory lane and shared this one time he met the late actor and had a fulfilling five minutes in the conversation. Vicky said that when he had gone for a screening of his film Madaari, and he had interacted with him post the screening and that’s the only time when he interacted with him. He was such an amazing soul, such an amazing person in those 5 minutes Kaushal got to interact with him. More so, be has interacted with him through his movies and so many characters that he has played.

Vicky also shared that his character of his latest film was challenging because there are some emotions that you’re not comfortable touching upon. But when you have to internalise those emotions, you sometimes have to take a part of it with you. You carry that part with you which becomes a very heavy process.
