When the Eternals grand premiere in Los Angeles on October 18 swept the internet, star Angelina Jolie discussed her motivation for joining the cast. She also revealed that she has been approached with superhero roles in the past, but she opted to take them only when she was offered the character of Thena in Eternals.

Gemma Chan, Richard Madden, Lauren Ridloff, Barry Keoghan, Don Lee, Kumail Nanjiani, Lia McHugh, Brian Tyree Henry, Harish Patel, Kit Harington, Salma Hayek, and Angelina Jolie are among the cast members.

Reason for Jolie to join Eternals

According to reports, Angelina Jolie discussed how she had been offered superhero roles in the past but turned them down until she was offered a position in Eternals and revealed that the character inspired her to want to be a part of the film. She also revealed the sole reason for joining the film’s cast.

Salma Hayek, on the other hand, is making her superhero debut with the film and discussed how her character seemed like the perfect one at the right moment. She commended the film’s director, Chloé Zhao, and remarked how much she adored her, as well as how significant it was that she could be a superhero in her 50s, and a Mexican-Arab superhero, at this time.

Hayek also claimed that only Angelina Jolie had signed the project before her when she joined the cast, and that it excited her.

Eternals was dubbed the most unlike MCU movie ever by critics and fans who attended the screening, and Zhao was praised for her unconventional directing.
