Shyam Singha Roy Movie Review: A Big-Canvas Movie Goes To Vain; Nani, Sai Pallavi And Krithi Shetty Fail To Create Magic On-screen – REPORTS

Shyam Singha Roy, a super-massy and mega-budget film starring Nani and Krithi Shetty in the lead role was released on December 24, 2021. Also, the film is a Rahul Sankrityan directorial and it will take your breath away with its portrayal of characters and the historical drama will surely keep you hooked to your screens. The film was much-anticipated by and all but, it, unfortunately, drowns in cliched sequences, and its tale of reincarnation might not surprise you much. Spoilers ahead!

Highlighting the elements of fantasy, drama, and action in its crux, Shyam Singh Roy revolves around the epic tale of Vasu played by Nani who is an aspiring filmmaker. He stalks Keerthy essayed by Krithi Shetty because he wants her to act in his short movie. So, he tries to impress Kirthi in creepy and cringy ways but she refuses to put up with him. One day, when Vasu gets hit on his head by a stone a deja vu flashes in front of him from his past life and he gets transported there.

Interestingly, Shyam Singha Roy also played by Nani falls in love with Maitreyi, essayed by Sai Pallavi, a devadasi. Meaning, a lady from ancient times marries the idol of Lord Krishna and spends her life worshipping and providing services to the idol of Lord Krishna. Also, in the film, Shyam Singha Roy Nani’s historical character helps Sai Pallavi get out of the devadasi system and fight for other causes as well.
