Hrithik’s last name is not Roshan in his official or birth name. Nagrath is his actual surname. One of Hrithik Roshan’s lesser-known facts is that his grandmother gave him the nickname ‘Duggu’ in a bid to rhyme with Rakesh Roshan’s nickname ‘Guddu.’

His parents expected him to continue his education in the United States when he graduated from Sydenham College. As an assistant director, he began his career in the profession. In two of his father Rakesh Roshan’s films, Karan Arjun and Koyla, he joined him. Farhan Akhtar’s original option for Akshaye Khanna’s character of ‘Sid’ in Dil Chahta Hai and Shah Rukh Khan’s role in Don was Hrithik Roshan. Swades and Rang De Basanti were both presented to him.

He was once a smoker and is now a strong advocate for living a healthy and active lifestyle. The Agneepath actor, however, gave up smoking after having read Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Stop Smoking.
