Aamhi Saare Khavayye: Learn To Make Hot Garlic Kartule

If you are a regular viewer of the popular cookery show Aamhi Saare Khavayye, then you must be knowing that even a vegetable like bitter gourd can be turned into a delicious and crispy dish. We are sure that you liked this recipe and that is why we thought of showing you a recipe made with another vegetable from the gourd family which is kartule aka spine gourd. If you love spicy food, then this is the perfect appetizer for your party menu.

Ingredients:

  • 6 Kartule aka spine gourd
  • 2 tsp wheat flour
  • 2 tsp red chilli paste
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • Green onion for garnishing
  • 2 tsp cornflour
  • 1 tsp cornflour paste
  • 1 tsp white pepper powder
  • 1 tsp seasoning powder
  • 1 tsp red chilli sauce
  • 1 tsp diced green chilli
  • 1 tsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 2 tsp diced garlic
  • 1 tsp diced ginger
  • 2 tsp red chilli powder
  • Salt to taste

Directions:

  • Heat oil in a Kadai for deep-frying.
  • Take 6 kartules and cut them into rings.
  • Now take a bowl and add the kartules with 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 1 tsp ginger garlic paste.
  • Keep it aside for marination for 10 minutes.
  • Next, add 2 tsp cornflour, 2 tsp wheat flour and mix it nicely.
  • Then, deep fry the kartules.
  • Take another frying pan and add 1 tsp oil, 2 tsp diced garlic, 1 tsp diced ginger, 1 tsp diced green chilli, 1 cup chopped onion, 2 tsp red chilli paste, 1 tsp white pepper powder, salt to taste, 1 tsp red chilli sauce, 1 tsp tomato ketchup, 1 tsp red chilli powder, 2 tsp water and 1 tsp cornflour paste.
  • Add the kartules in the pan and toss it.
  • Sprinkle 1 tsp seasoning powder and green onion for garnishing.
  • Once done transfer it to a serving dish.
