Aasif Sheikh Aka Vibhuti From Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain Wanted To Become A Cricketer!

“I am saaryy (sic), really really sarry!” Whenever we hear this dialogue, our favorite character Vibhuti Narayan Mishra from the popular sitcom, Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain, comes to mind. Veteran actor Aasif Sheikh, who plays this role, has impressed us all with his acting stints. The actor has been in the television and film industry for several years, and has worked with almost every popular actor in Bollywood, including Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Govinda.

Today, we are going to reveal a fact about the actor that, most of his fans must be unaware of. While talking to a popular online portal, Aasif mentioned that he wanted to become a cricketer but couldn’t pursue the profession, as his father was against it. “Mujhe cricketer banna tha, actor ban gaya (laughs), says Aasif, adding, “ I was and I am still an ardent fan of cricket! During my school days, being a cricketer was a huge dream. In the year 1982, my name was enlisted in the Cricket team of my school in Delhi. I had become the Captain of my team back then and had an opportunity to travel to England to play a match.”
The actor further discusses why his father stopped him from going. “, My father didn’t let me go because I had my board exams back then. He also believed that cricket wouldn’t get me a strong career and was keen on making me a doctor. I chose to follow his path but somewhere felt I wouldn’t be able to pursue the line anymore,” he says.
Just like a true blue cricket fan, he never misses an opportunity to watch the sport in his spare time. “I watch almost every match that is played around the world, even if they are just test matches. From our Indian cricket team, I have great admiration for MS Dhoni and the commitment and passion he has for the game. He is a living legend and if there is anyone who is as close to being like him, I believe that’s Virat Kohli, He is the next legend we have with us in our team,” says Aasif.
