Abhay Episode 7 Review: Kunal Kemmu Is Haunted By The Ghost Of The Past
BollywoodThe latest episode of Abhay starring Kunal Kemmu, Sandeepa Dhar and Elnaaz Norouzi dropped today on ZEE5.
Kunal Kemmu, star of Raja Hindustani, Traffic Signal, Go Goa Gone amongst others, recently made his digital debut with ZEE5 original series Abhay. He features as the titular lead, Abhay Pratap Singh, a Special Task Force officer from Lucknow. Inspired by real-life events, the crime thriller features Abhay as a sharp investigating officer with the nuances of a criminal’s mind, who can go to any extent to solve a case. However, as he sets out to nab wrongdoers, skeletons from his own closet set out to haunt him and his family.
The previous episodes of Abhay shed light on his twisted relationship with officer Natasha Hashmi, played by Elnaaz Norouzi, his batchmate from the training academy. They also brought to the spotlight the reason for his paranoia curtailing his son Saahil. It is revealed that Govind, who killed his Abhay’s wife, was actually Natasha’s informer who gets caught because of Abhay. In the recent episode The Butcher, Abhay is awaiting trial with context to his public spat with Govind. However, a case involving ‘UP’s Kasai’ who is on a killing spree for years gets his senior to report him to duty.
As Abhay begins investigating the case, Govind issues a threat to Natasha. Abhay reaches home to find Govind about to burn his whole house including Saahil and his governess. The fretful father tries to apologize and talk Govind out of his plan but is saved by a bullet that hits the latter point blank. Abhay is able to save Govind from burning his house down in a dramatic dive, but who shot Govind is something that is left a mystery!
Kunal Kemmu scores a three-pointer in every sense. Wowing us all, one scene at a time, Abhay is perhaps an eye-opener for anyone who boxed him in the comic space only. The Kalank actor brings an arsenal of some great expressions and emotions as weapons, with anger and fear overpowering them often. Natasha has perhaps the most defined character arc after Abhay in the series. She shifts gears from being a hot-headed officer to an obsessed lover, effortlessly and with no flaws whatsoever. Namit Das is a stunner with his vengeance-filled Govind, he is crazy but emotional at the same time.
Tune in to ZEE5 now and watch Abhay episode 7 The Butcher to know how Abhay battles his past and present.
