BollywoodRecently a social media brawl involving actor Siddharth Suryanarayan and Badminton fame Saina Nehwal was making headlines. As of now, the actor has issued an apology letter for the sports personality
Siddharth, the Rang De Basanti fame, has been in the news for a day due to a Twitter remark incident involving Saina Nehwal. Netizens were outraged after Siddharth tweeted about Saina’s comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s security breach during his visit to Punjab.
Siddharth apologized to Saina Nehwal on January 11th after receiving widespread criticism for his “mean joke” on the badminton sensation on Twitter.
“Dear Saina,” Siddharth said in his letter of apology, he went on to apologise for his nasty jest that he stated as a reaction to a tweet of hers a few days earlier. He may strongly disagree with her on many issues, but his dismay or fury when reading her tweet does not excuse his demeanor or language. He is well aware that he possesses more flair than that,” he stated.

“As for the joke, if a jest needs to be justified, then it wasn’t a very clever joke to commence with,” Siddharth added, apologizing again for the mistake. Please accept my apologies for a joke that did not imply its actual meaning. He, on the other hand, must insist that his wit and humor had nothing to do with the evil purpose that so many others have attached to it.
He is a strong feminist supporter, and he reassure her that his tweet had no gender connotation, and that he had no intention of attacking her because she is a female. He hopes they will be able to move on from this and that she will acknowledge his letter. He ended the message by saying, “You will always be my champion.”
The National Commission for Women requested that Twitter block Siddharth’s profile for his “indecent and improper” comment against Saina Nehwal on January 11th. The NCW further requested that an FIR be filed against him with the Maharashtra police.
According to the NCW, the remark was “misandrist,” “enrages a woman’s dignity,” and “amounts to disdain and undermines the sanctity.”
