Actress Deepika Padukone Tests Positive For COVID-19

Deepika Padukone flew to Bengaluru with her husband Ranveer Singh after Maharashtra Government announced a 15-day lockdown. Deepika Padukone’s father Prakash Padukone tested positive and later both her mother Ujjala and sister Anisha also tested COVID-19 positive. Recently, it was reported that Deepika Padukone has also tested positive for COVID-19.

Vimal Kumar, a good friend, and director at the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA) confirmed the news and said, “Around 10 days back, Prakash, his wife (Ujjala) and second daughter (Anisha), they developed symptoms and got themselves tested and the results came out to be positive. All his parameters are fine, his wife and daughter are at home and he too will be hopefully discharged in 2-3 days.”

He also informed that all three of them were in self-isolation but even after a week, Prakash’s fever didn’t come down, and he was admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru. While Prakash has been recovering, reports of Deepika Padukone testing positive coronavirus came on 4 May. However, neither Deepika nor her family has issued an official statement regarding the same.

Earlier, Deepika Padukone posted verified resources for mental health problems. She wrote, “As millions of us (me and my family included) strive to stay afloat, let us not forget that our emotional well-being in this current crisis, is equally important! Remember, You Are Not Alone. We are in this Together. And most importantly, there is Hope!”

Meanwhile, on the work front, Deepika Padukone has numerous films in her kitty. She will be seen sharing screen space with husband Ranveer Singh in 83. Ranveer would be portraying the role of Kapil Dev in the film while Deepika will be seen playing his wife Romi Dev. The actress has wrapped up the shooting of Shakun Batra’s yet-to-be-titled film with Siddhant Chaturvedi. Deepika will also be a part of  Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan. The actress also has Fighter with Hrithik Roshan and an untitled project with Prabhas lined up. Additionally, Deepika Padukone will also share screen space with Amitabh Bachchan again for the Indian adaptation of The Intern.
