Aditya Roy Kapur To Star In the Remake Of A Hit Tamil Film, Thadam

Aditya Roy Kapur is all set to star in a remake of a Tamil thriller film, Thadam. The Hindi remake is untitled as of now but will be seeing Aditya Roy Kapur play a double role for the first time ever. Thadam is a murder mystery/ thriller film that was released in 2019 and starred Arun Vijay in the lead.

The original film revolves around a murder of a man and two suspects. What’s intriguing about these two suspects is that they look alike but don’t know anything about each other. Based on true incidents, Thadam was a big hit with the Tamil audience. The Hindi remake of the film will be directed by debutant filmmaker Vardhan Ketkar and will be produced by Bhushan Kumar of T-series.

In a statement, the actor reportedly expressed his excitement and added that he is ready to put in double the effort for his double roles. He also praised the original film and said that he found it entertaining. A Telugu film, Red was also made as a remake of the Tamil film Thadam, which was average at the box office. Makers of the Hindi remake are all set to bring back Thadam’s hit performance. This will be Aditya Roy Kapur’s latest film after Malang in 2020. His other project is gearing up for a release is Ek Villain 2!

Aditya Roy Kapur is not the first Bollywood actor to star in a remake of a South Indian film. Many big names of the industry are also doing the same. Shahid Kapoor will be seen in Jersey, which is a remake of a Telugu film. Ajay Devgn recently also announced his collaboration with producer Dil Raju to remake Naandhi, another Telugu hit film!
