After Cocktail, Venkat Prabhu And Vaibhav’s Lock Up To Premiere On ZEE5

As the lockdown has been extended in many parts of India, theatres are likely to be shut for a few more months. As a result, many producers are opting for a digital release for their projects. After Varalaxmi Sarathkumar’s Danny and Yogi Babu’s Cocktail, now another film titled Lock Up has opted for a direct OTT (over-the-top) release. Yes, you read that right! Venkat Prabhu starrer Lock Up is all set to release on your favourite streaming platform ZEE5 in August 2020.

Written and directed by Murali Karthick, Lock Up is touted to be a crime thriller, starring Vaibhav, Venkat Prabhu and Vani Bhojan in the lead roles. The film revolves around a murder mystery. After a woman (who is attacked by three unidentified men) is found dead, the cops begin to investigate the case and three innocent people are charged for the murder under the circumstantial evidence.

In the film, Vaibhav and Venkat Prabhu will be seen essaying the roles of a cop. While Vaibhav will portray the sincere cop, Venkat’s character has a grey shade in the film. Meanwhile, Vani Bhojan will be seen playing Vaibhav’s love interest in the film. Well, we don’t think there is much scope for a romantic track, given it’s a thriller.

Also, Kannamoochi actress Poorna will be saying the role of a mother to a teenage girl. Well, it’s a bold step for someone as young as Poora to play a role that’s much older than her real age. Lock Up provides an intriguing narrative. So, to find out who actually is the murderer or will the three innocent men be able to prove themselves to be not guilty, watch the film now on ZEE5.

Besides Venkat Prabhu, Vaibhav and Vani, the film also features Poorna, Kalaiyarasan, Abhirami Iyer, Karunakaran, Vatsan Chakravarthy in essential roles. Produced by actor Nithin Sathyaa, the film will premiere on August 14, 2020, on ZEE5.
