In the ad, Alia essayed a character of an Indian bride who asks to adopt Kanyamaan (respect women), instead of Kanyadaan. The ad became a target for controversies and a topic for debates. It was said that the Kanyamaan ad had disrespected the Indian traditions. The muse in the ad, Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt was trolled for being a part of the ad. Few even trolled her for uttering those lines in the monologue. Now, after facing the trolls, Alia Bhatt has came up with yet another advertisement.

The latest ad that features Alia Bhatt is about a leading mattress company. In the ad she can be seen alongside her real life best friend, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor. The pair of best friend’s always make headlines as they share pictures together or comment on each other’s social media posts. Now, the BBF’s have featured together in an ad for a sleep solutions brand. The brand launched a campaign for Diwali that shreds the light on Change your sleep, Change your life. In the ad, Alia Bhatt can be seen nudging Akansha Ranjan Kapoor to consider changing her old mattress during the festival of Diwali. Alia Bhatt emphasises on what differentiates her brand’s mattresses from the others. The ad film ends with Akansha Ranjan Kapoor sleeping on a mattress and Alia Bhatt saying, ‘Nothing Like Duroflex.’
