The NCB questioned Ananya for hours last month in the drugs-on-cruise case after her name reportedly appeared in WhatsApp messages during the agency’s investigation into the case in which Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan and others were detained. According to an officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity, Ananya insisted that she had never taken drugs and that her conversations with Aryan were lighthearted. The NCB raided Ananya’s Bandra home. During the raid, authorities from the agency took her laptop and cell phone. The actress then arrived at the NCB headquarters with her actor father, Chunky Panday.
