Ahead Of Scream Release Courteney Cox Reveals About A Character Death That Was Scheduled For First Movie – FIND OUT WHO

In a recent interview actress Courteney Cox, who reprises her role as Gale Weathers from the Scream franchise, discussed a character demise that was originally scheduled for the first movie in the film series. David Arquette was meant to be murdered off in the first ‘Scream’ film, according to Courteney Cox.

The 57-year-old actress confessed that the movie could have gone in a different direction if studio executives had anticipated how successful his character, cop Dewey Riley, would be with audiences and changed their minds. “There was a point, I believe it was in the first ‘Scream,’ where David’s role Dewey was going to be killed off,” Courteney told the interviewer. They discarded it after seeing how he came over and how much people appreciated him.”

Courteney and David, who wedded in 1999 but divorced in 2010, recently reconnected for a fifth ‘Scream’ picture, and the actress confessed that working on the movie without renowned filmmaker Wes Craven, who died in 2015, was “very challenging.”
“This is the first ‘Scream’ movie without Wes, and it’s been incredibly difficult,” she remarked.

It’s been over 25 years since the first ‘Scream’ was released in theatres, and the cast believes the series has the ability to last for many more years. “I truly do believe ‘Scream’ will indeed be able to live on,” he insisted.
