Ahead Of Women’s Day, Silence Actor Arjun Mathur Shares Why He Loves Working With Female Directors

Arjun Mathur is all set to appear in the upcoming murder mystery film, Silence…Can You Hear It? Along with him, the film stars Manoj Bajpayee and Prachi Desai in the lead roles. The film is written and directed by Aban Bharucha Deohans. Recently in a BTS video from the sets, Arjun Mathur shared some insight into his character and also talked about his experience working with women directors.

Arjun Mathur made his acting debut in the Hindi film industry in 2004. In 2009, he starred in the film Luck By Chance, starring Farhan Akhtar and Konkona Sen Sharma, which was directed by Zoya Akhtar. In 2019, he worked with her again, this time for an OTT show. The show was created by Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kaagti and directed by Zoya Akhtar, Nitya Mehra, Prashant Nair, and Alankrita Shrivastava. Besides the series, Arjun Mathur received a lot of love for his role and was even nominated for the Best Actor award at the International Emmy Awards.

Arjun Mathur is all set to star in Silence…Can You Hear It next, which will be directed by Aban Bharucha Deohans. During his interaction, he shared why he loves working with women directors. He said, “I really like to work with women directors because I believe, and I have seen, that the way they look at things is different. They manage to capture a lot of nuance in their work.”

Talking about his character, Arjun Mathur said that he is playing Ravi Khanna, who is an MLA and a suave guy. He also talked about the experience of working with Manoj Bajpayee and Prachi Desai. Arjun said, “To work with Manoj Bajpayee has been a dream since I watched him in Satya. And I think it was one of the largest draws to this project for me. Also, it was my first time working with Prachi Desai. We only had 2 or 3 days of the shoot together, but she was really sweet and it was great working with her.”

About his overall experience, Arjun Mathur said that the entire team was amazing. He shared that everyone was cheerful and fun-loving, and were enjoying their time making this film.

Silence…Can You Hear It will premiere on ZEE5 on March 26, 2021.
